My Approach
“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.”
To me, counselling is an opportunity to get to know yourself more fully — to explore your experiences, patterns, and relationships in a space that’s respectful, grounded, and free of judgement. It’s a way to make sense of where you’ve been, how you’re feeling now, and what changes you might want to make. For many, it can be a chance to heal from past experiences, rebuild confidence, and feel more in control of life’s direction.
People come to therapy for many reasons — you might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward. Whether you’re navigating life changes, struggling with low mood, managing relationship difficulties, or processing painful events, counselling can offer space to reflect, recalibrate, and feel supported. I work with adults from a range of backgrounds, including those who may feel unsure about therapy but know something needs to change.
My approach is integrative, drawing on person-centred, humanistic, CBT, psychodynamic, and Gestalt models. I also value creativity and expression, and I may sometimes incorporate imagery, metaphor, or creative tools if it feels right for you. These can help access emotions or parts of your experience that might be hard to reach through words alone.
I’m also a practitioner of Rewind Therapy, also known as Memory Re-orientation Therapy (MRT). This approach is particularly helpful for people affected by trauma, including PTSD, flashbacks, and intrusive thoughts. It works by helping the brain ‘re-file’ traumatic memories so they no longer carry the same emotional charge or trigger overwhelming responses. Rewind is gentle, non-intrusive, and doesn’t require you to share or re-live traumatic details — making it a safe and empowering tool for recovery.
However, I believe no single approach works for everyone. Some people may need to talk and reflect; others may benefit from structured techniques or creative exploration. Our work will be shaped around your story, your pace, and your goals.
I practise in accordance with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework, which underpins my commitment to providing a safe, professional, and ethical service.
