About Me
I’m a counsellor and therapist with a background in healthcare and a deep‑rooted commitment to supporting mental and physical wellbeing. I hold a Diploma and Certificate in Counselling Practice, a Master’s degree, a Bachelor of Science with Honours, and a Graduate Diploma in Community Health Studies. I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (MNCPS). My approach is straightforward, honest, and compassionate — shaped by real‑life experience and over three decades of working in healthcare with people from all walks of life.
Prior to becoming a counsellor, I graduated as a registered nurse and worked across acute mental health, general hospitals, primary care, public health, and the prison service. These roles gave me a deep understanding of how life, work, and health can collide — and how profoundly this can affect our mental health and overall wellbeing. I have experience in both NHS and private settings, including collaboration with Marks & Spencer PLC.
I now provide a safe, non‑judgemental space where people can talk openly, make sense of what they’re experiencing, and find practical ways forward. Whether you’re dealing with stress, trauma, health concerns, relationship difficulties, or the pressures of work and everyday life, I offer calm, steady support to help you regain clarity, confidence, and wellbeing.
Working with me
The way I work is open and exploratory and I work with a wide variety of problems including depression, relationship difficulties, eating disorders, sexual abuse, anxiety or just feeling a bit lost.
I usually suggest an initial session so that we can meet each other and you can get a feel for how I work and see if you feel that I would be the right therapist for you.
In my experience effective therapy is very much about how the therapist ‘fits’ with the client and the quality of the relationship so it’s important that you feel comfortable working with me.
Whether you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling overwhelmed or stuck — we can explore it together. I won’t offer quick fixes, but I will walk alongside you, helping you make sense of what’s happening and find a way forward that fits your life.
Outside of my professional work, I spend time walking, cycling, and riding motorcycles — things that keep me grounded. I also volunteer with a number of charitable organisation offering affordable counselling, as I believe support should be accessible to everyone.
